Jérémy Jouve is a French classical guitarist who has established himself as one of the most talented and versatile musicians of his generation. Born in 1978 in Paris, Jouve began playing the guitar at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he was mentored by renowned guitarists such as Roland Dyens and Alberto Ponce. Jouve's early career was marked by a series of impressive performances and awards. In 1996, he won first prize at the International Guitar Competition of Sernancelhe in Portugal, and in 1998 he was awarded the prestigious Villa-Lobos Prize at the Concours International de Guitare de Paris. These early successes helped to establish Jouve as a rising star in the world of classical guitar. Over the years, Jouve has continued to build on his early successes, performing at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals. He has appeared at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Salle Pleyel, and the Cité de la Musique in Paris, as well as at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. He has also performed at major festivals such as the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier, the Festival de la Roque d'Anthéron, and the Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Barcelona. Jouve's repertoire is wide-ranging and eclectic, encompassing works from the Baroque era to the present day. He has recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of the complete works for guitar by Joaquín Rodrigo. He has also collaborated with a number of other musicians, including the cellist Henri Demarquette and the pianist François Dumont. In addition to his performing career, Jouve is also a respected teacher and has taught at several institutions, including the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Versailles. He has also given masterclasses around the world, sharing his knowledge and expertise with aspiring guitarists. Throughout his career, Jouve has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2003, he was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque by the Académie Charles Cros for his recording of the complete works for guitar by Joaquín Rodrigo. In 2005, he was named a laureate of the Fondation Natexis Banques Populaires, which recognizes outstanding young artists in France. In 2010, he was awarded the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in recognition of his contributions to the arts.
