From a young age, Otey showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. He spent countless hours practicing and studying the works of great composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. Otey's talent and dedication paid off when he was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Yoheved Kaplinsky and Emanuel Ax. During his time at Juilliard, Otey began to make a name for himself as a rising star in the classical music world. He won numerous awards and competitions, including the Juilliard Concerto Competition and the International Piano Competition in Moscow. After graduating from Juilliard with honors, Otey embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist.
