Jefferson C. McConnaughey was a renowned American composer of classical music. He was born on January 15, 1925, in the small town of New Castle, Pennsylvania. McConnaughey was the youngest of three children born to his parents, who were both musicians. His father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist. Growing up in a musical family, McConnaughey was exposed to music from a very young age. He began playing the piano at the age of four and showed a natural talent for music.
