Nathalie Kedroff was a renowned classical music artist who was born on December 18, 1904, in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was born into a family of musicians, and her father, Nikolai Kedroff, was a famous bass singer in the Imperial Opera. Nathalie's mother, Olga Kedroff, was a pianist and composer. Nathalie's family was deeply involved in the Russian Orthodox Church, and they were known for their beautiful choral singing. Nathalie began her musical training at a young age, and she showed great promise as a singer. She studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, where she was trained in the Russian choral tradition. Nathalie's voice was unique, and she had a rich, warm tone that was well-suited to the music of the Russian Orthodox Church. In 1923, Nathalie and her family fled Russia due to the political turmoil of the time. They settled in Paris, where Nathalie continued her musical studies. She studied with the famous French soprano Claire Croiza, who helped her develop her technique and refine her voice. Nathalie made her professional debut in Paris in 1927, and she quickly gained a reputation as a talented singer. She performed in many concerts and recitals throughout Europe, and she was praised for her beautiful voice and her ability to convey emotion through her singing. In 1939, Nathalie moved to the United States, where she continued to perform and teach. She became a professor of voice at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she taught for many years. Nathalie also continued to perform, and she appeared in many concerts and operas throughout the United States. One of Nathalie's most notable performances was her appearance in the Metropolitan Opera's production of Boris Godunov in 1950. She played the role of the Innkeeper, and her performance was widely praised. Nathalie also appeared in many other operas, including Carmen, La Bohème, and Don Giovanni. Nathalie was known for her dedication to her craft, and she was a perfectionist when it came to her singing.
