Ensemble Pyramide is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012 in Paris, France. The ensemble is made up of four musicians who are all highly skilled in their respective instruments. The members of the ensemble are Marie-Laure Garnier on the flute, Cécile Grassi on the violin, Marie-Laure Garnier on the viola, and Anne-Sophie Le Rol on the cello. The founding of Ensemble Pyramide was the result of a shared passion for chamber music among the four musicians. They had all previously played together in various other ensembles and orchestras, but they wanted to create a group that would allow them to explore the full range of chamber music repertoire. They named the ensemble Pyramide after the iconic pyramid at the Louvre Museum in Paris, which they felt represented the timeless beauty and elegance of classical music. Since its founding, Ensemble Pyramide has become known for its dynamic and expressive performances. The ensemble has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in France and around the world, including the Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the Carnegie Hall in New York City. They have also been invited to perform at numerous music festivals, including the Festival de Musique de Menton, the Festival de Musique de La Chaise-Dieu, and the Festival de Musique de Saint-Riquier. One of the highlights of Ensemble Pyramide's career was their performance at the 2014 Festival de Musique de Menton. The ensemble was invited to perform a program of works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, and their performance was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. The ensemble was praised for their technical precision and their ability to convey the emotional depth of the music. In addition to their performances, Ensemble Pyramide has also received numerous awards and accolades. In 2015, they were awarded the Prix de la Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the arts. The ensemble was also named the laureate of the 2016 Pro Musicis International Award, which is given to musicians who demonstrate exceptional talent and dedication to their craft. Ensemble Pyramide's repertoire is diverse and includes works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods. They are particularly known for their interpretations of works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, but they have also performed works by lesser-known composers such as Louise Farrenc and Fanny Mendelssohn. The ensemble is committed to promoting the works of female composers and has commissioned several new works by contemporary female composers. Ensemble Pyramide's recordings have also received critical acclaim. Their debut album, released in 2014, featured works by Mozart and Beethoven and was praised for its technical precision and emotional depth. Their second album, released in 2017, featured works by Schubert and was hailed as a "masterful interpretation" of the composer's music. In addition to their performances and recordings, Ensemble Pyramide is also committed to music education. They regularly give masterclasses and workshops for young musicians and have worked with students at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the Juilliard School in New York City. Ensemble Pyramide's commitment to excellence and their passion for chamber music have made them one of the most respected ensembles in the classical music world.
