Quartetto Luigi Tomasini is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008 in Italy. The ensemble is named after the famous Italian violinist Luigi Tomasini, who was a member of the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan during the 18th century. The founding members of Quartetto Luigi Tomasini were violinists Federico Guglielmo and Stefano Barneschi, violist Danilo Rossi, and cellist Luigi Piovano. All four members are accomplished musicians who have performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras and ensembles in the world. Since its founding, Quartetto Luigi Tomasini has become known for its dynamic and expressive performances of classical music. The ensemble has a particular affinity for the music of the 18th and 19th centuries, and has performed works by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms. One of the highlights of Quartetto Luigi Tomasini's career was its performance at the 2010 Salzburg Festival. The ensemble was invited to perform as part of the festival's "Mozart Matinees" series, which showcases some of the world's finest chamber music ensembles. Quartetto Luigi Tomasini's performance was widely praised for its technical precision and emotional depth. In addition to its performances at the Salzburg Festival, Quartetto Luigi Tomasini has also performed at other major music festivals around the world, including the Edinburgh International Festival, the Ravenna Festival, and the Festival de Saint-Denis in Paris.
