Ganesh Kumar was a renowned classical music composer who was born in Chennai, India in 1950. He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known classical singer. Kumar grew up surrounded by music and began learning to play the sitar at a young age. He showed a natural talent for music and quickly became proficient in playing the instrument. Kumar's father recognized his son's talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Kumar began performing in public at the age of 12 and quickly gained a reputation as a talented musician. He continued to study music and eventually became a disciple of the famous sitar player Ravi Shankar. Kumar's music was heavily influenced by Indian classical music, but he also incorporated elements of Western classical music into his compositions. Kumar's first major composition was a piece called "Raga Shuddha Sarang," which he wrote when he was just 18 years old.
