From a young age, Donald showed a keen interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. Donald's talent was evident from the start, and he quickly became a prodigy in the classical music world. He studied under some of the most renowned cellists of his time, including Yo-Yo Ma and Mstislav Rostropovich. By the time he was a teenager, Donald had already performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. In 1983, Donald was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides them with financial support to further their careers. This was a major turning point in Donald's career, as it allowed him to focus on his music full-time and pursue his dream of becoming a world-class cellist. Over the years, Donald has performed with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic.
