Anna Alexieva is a Bulgarian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born on May 5, 1991, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Anna showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents, both music lovers, recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. Anna's musical education began at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, where she studied under the guidance of Professor Stella Dimitrova. She quickly distinguished herself as a gifted pianist, winning numerous awards and competitions, including the National Piano Competition "Svetoslav Obretenov" and the International Piano Competition "Young Virtuosos." In 2009, Anna was accepted into the prestigious Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with Professor Sergei Dorensky. During her time in Moscow, Anna continued to excel, winning the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition "Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte" in the Czech Republic and the First Prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Cantu" in Italy. After completing her studies in Moscow, Anna continued her musical education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, where she studied with Professor Michael Schäfer. During her time in Munich, Anna won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition "Città di Barletta" in Italy and the Second Prize at the International Piano Competition "Cidade do Fundão" in Portugal. Anna's talent and dedication to her craft have earned her numerous accolades and opportunities to perform on some of the world's most prestigious stages. She has performed as a soloist with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio, among others. One of Anna's most notable performances was at the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where she was one of only six pianists selected to compete in the final round. Her performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra earned her critical acclaim and a place among the top pianists in the world. In addition to her solo performances, Anna is also an accomplished chamber musician, having collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Maxim Vengerov and cellist Gautier Capuçon. She has performed at numerous music festivals, including the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, the Salzburg Festival in Austria, and the Ravinia Festival in the United States. Anna's musicality and technical prowess have earned her numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In 2013, she was awarded the "Young Musician of the Year" prize by the Bulgarian National Radio. She has also been awarded the "Musician of the Year" prize by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and the "Crystal Lyre" prize by the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers.
