John Anmer was a classical music composer born in London, England in 1783. He was the youngest of five children and showed an early interest in music. Anmer's first major work was his Symphony No. 1 in C Major, which he composed at the age of 21. The piece was well-received and established Anmer as a promising young composer. He continued to compose symphonies throughout his career, with his Symphony No. 5 in D Major being considered one of his finest works. In addition to his symphonies, Anmer composed a number of chamber works, including string quartets and piano sonatas. His String Quartet No. 2 in G Major is particularly notable for its use of folk melodies and intricate counterpoint. Anmer's music was known for its lyricism and emotional depth.
