Marcin Dylla is a world-renowned classical guitarist who was born on July 6, 1976, in Chorzów, Poland. He began playing the guitar at the age of eight and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, where he received his Master's degree in 2000. Dylla's career as a professional musician began in 1996 when he won first prize at the International Guitar Competition in Gargnano, Italy. This was the first of many awards that he would receive throughout his career. In 2002, he won first prize at the International Guitar Competition in Havana, Cuba, and in 2007, he won first prize at the Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition. Dylla has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Warsaw Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, and the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México. One of the highlights of Dylla's career was his performance at the 2011 Guitar Foundation of America International Convention and Competition, where he performed a program of works by Bach, Ponce, and Brouwer.
