He wrote a number of works for piano, including several sonatas and sets of variations. He also wrote a number of chamber works, including string quartets and piano trios. One of Artsybushev's most famous works is his Piano Concerto No. 1, which he composed in 1890. The concerto is a virtuosic work that showcases Artsybushev's skills as a pianist and composer. The concerto was premiered in Moscow in 1891, and it was well-received by audiences and critics alike. In addition to his work as a composer, Artsybushev was also a respected music educator. He taught at the Moscow Conservatory for many years, and he was known for his dedication to his students. Many of his students went on to become successful composers and performers in their own right. Artsybushev's later works show a shift towards a more modernist style. He began to experiment with atonality and other avant-garde techniques, and his later works were often more dissonant and complex than his earlier works.
