She was the daughter of Santiago Casarès Quiroga, a Spanish politician who served as the Prime Minister of Spain for a brief period in 1936. Her mother, Lola de la Fuente, was a French singer and actress. Casarès grew up in a family that was deeply involved in politics and the arts, which influenced her career choices. Casarès began her career as an actress in the early 1940s, performing in various plays and films. She quickly gained recognition for her talent and was soon offered roles in major productions. In 1946, she made her debut in the theater with the play "Les Mouches" by Jean-Paul Sartre, which was a huge success. This marked the beginning of a long and successful career in the theater.
