The founding members of Rio Carnival Orchestra were all classically trained musicians who shared a passion for Brazilian music. The group was later joined by percussionist Marcos Suzano, who brought his expertise in Brazilian percussion to the ensemble. They began by arranging classical pieces for their unique instrumentation, adding Brazilian percussion and rhythms to create a new and exciting sound.
