Iara Behs is a Brazilian classical pianist and composer who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and innovative compositions. Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1985, Behs showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument, and by the age of ten, she had won her first piano competition. Behs continued to excel in her musical studies, and in 2003, she was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. There, she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky, and honed her skills as a performer and composer. During her time at Juilliard, Behs also had the opportunity to work with some of the world's most celebrated musicians, including Emanuel Ax, Lang Lang, and Martha Argerich. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Behs embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist, performing in venues around the world.
