The New York Cantorial Choir is a renowned classical music ensemble that specializes in Jewish liturgical music. The choir was founded in 1980 by Cantor Sherwood Goffin, a prominent figure in the world of Jewish music. Goffin had a vision of creating a choir that would preserve and promote the rich tradition of Jewish choral music, which was in danger of being lost due to the Holocaust and the assimilation of American Jews. The New York Cantorial Choir is made up of professional singers and musicians who are dedicated to the art of Jewish choral music. The choir's repertoire includes traditional Jewish liturgical music, as well as contemporary compositions that reflect the diversity of Jewish music. The choir's performances are known for their emotional depth and spiritual power, and they have been praised by audiences and critics alike. One of the highlights of the New York Cantorial Choir's career was their performance at the 1987 Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service, where they sang for President Ronald Reagan and Vice President George H.W.
