Role:EnsembleTrio Lézard is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012. The group consists of three members: violinist Marie-Claire Vaillancourt, cellist Jean-Philippe Tremblay, and pianist Simon Larivière. The trio is based in Montreal, Canada, and has gained a reputation for their dynamic and engaging performances. Marie-Claire Vaillancourt, the violinist of the group, began playing the violin at the age of four. She studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and later at the Juilliard School in New York City. She has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the Orchestre Métropolitain. He studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany. He has performed with many orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestre symphonique de Québec and the Orchestre de chambre de Lausanne. Simon Larivière, the pianist of the group, began playing the piano at the age of six. He studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and later at the Université de Montréal. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Canada, the United States, and Europe. The trio's name, Trio Lézard, is French for "Lizard Trio." The name was chosen because the members of the group wanted a name that was unique and memorable. They also liked the idea of a lizard, which is a symbol of agility and adaptability. Trio Lézard has performed at many prestigious venues and festivals around the world. In 2014, they performed at the Festival de Lanaudière, one of the largest classical music festivals in Canada. They have also performed at the Festival de musique de chambre de Montréal and the Festival international de musique de chambre en Charente. In addition to their live performances, Trio Lézard has also released several recordings. Their debut album, "Trio Lézard," was released in 2015 and features works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Ravel. Their second album, "Trio Lézard II," was released in 2018 and features works by Mendelssohn, Shostakovich, and Dvořák. Trio Lézard has received numerous awards and accolades for their performances and recordings. In 2015, they were awarded the Prix Opus for "Discovery of the Year" by the Conseil québécois de la musique. They were also nominated for a Juno Award, Canada's top music award, in 2016 for their debut album. Overall, Trio Lézard is a talented and dynamic classical music ensemble that has gained a reputation for their engaging performances and unique repertoire.
