Born on May 22, 1984, in New York City, Coletti grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a singer, so it was only natural that Coletti would develop an interest in music. Coletti began playing the trumpet when he was just six years old and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied at the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division and later went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School in 2006. During his time at Juilliard, Coletti studied with renowned trumpet players such as Mark Gould and Raymond Mase. After graduating from Juilliard, Coletti joined the Canadian Brass, a world-renowned brass quintet that has been performing for over 50 years. Coletti was the youngest member of the group and played with them from 2006 to 2017. During his time with the Canadian Brass, Coletti performed in over 2,000 concerts in 30 countries and recorded 13 albums. Coletti's performances with the Canadian Brass were highly acclaimed, and he received numerous awards and accolades for his work. In 2007, he won the International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition, and in 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Coletti was also a finalist in the National Trumpet Competition in 2005 and 2006. In addition to his work with the Canadian Brass, Coletti has also performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Boston Pops, and the National Symphony Orchestra, among others. Coletti has also performed at numerous music festivals, including the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Pacific Music Festival. Coletti is also an accomplished composer and arranger. He has written numerous works for brass quintet, including his own arrangement of Bach's Goldberg Variations. Coletti's compositions and arrangements have been performed by orchestras and ensembles around the world. In addition to his work as a performer and composer, Coletti is also a dedicated music educator. He has taught at the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Toronto. Coletti is also a frequent guest lecturer and clinician at universities and music schools around the world. The New York Times has praised his "virtuosic flair" and "impressive technique," while the Los Angeles Times has called him "a master of his instrument."
