Born on December 18, 1964, in Catania, Sicily, Bonaccorso grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist. Bonaccorso started playing the piano at the age of six, but he soon switched to the double bass, which became his primary instrument. Bonaccorso's musical education began at the Conservatory of Music in Catania, where he studied under the guidance of Maestro Salvatore Badalamenti. He then moved to Rome to continue his studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, where he studied with Franco Petracchi, one of the most renowned double bassists in the world. Bonaccorso's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly established himself as a rising star in the classical music scene. Bonaccorso's career as a professional musician began in the early 1990s when he joined the Italian Instabile Orchestra, a collective of improvising musicians. He also played with other prominent jazz musicians, including Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, and Stefano Bollani. However, Bonaccorso's passion for classical music never waned, and he continued to perform and record with classical ensembles and orchestras. He performed with the orchestra under the baton of renowned conductors such as Myung-Whun Chung, Antonio Pappano, and Yuri Temirkanov. Bonaccorso's performances with the orchestra were highly acclaimed, and he received numerous accolades for his virtuosity and musicality. In addition to his performances as a soloist and with orchestras, Bonaccorso is also a prolific composer. He has written numerous works for the double bass, including solo pieces, chamber music, and concertos. His compositions are characterized by their lyrical melodies, intricate harmonies, and rhythmic complexity.
