Ans Philippo was born on May 12, 1985, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Ans showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Ans received her formal music education at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue Jan Wijn. During her time at the conservatory, Ans developed a deep understanding of classical music and honed her skills as a pianist. She also had the opportunity to perform in various concerts and competitions, which helped her gain valuable experience and exposure. In 2007, Ans graduated from the conservatory with a Bachelor of Music degree, and in 2009, she completed her Master of Music degree with distinction. Her exceptional performance in her master's degree earned her the prestigious Prix d'Excellence award, which is given to outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional talent and dedication. After completing her studies, Ans began her professional career as a concert pianist. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent and was invited to perform in various concerts and festivals across Europe. Her performances were praised for their technical brilliance, musicality, and emotional depth. One of Ans's most notable performances was at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw in 2012, where she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra. Her performance was met with a standing ovation and critical acclaim, with critics praising her for her "virtuosic playing" and "sensitive interpretation." Ans has also performed in various other prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Carnegie Hall in New York.
