He studied at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany. Colom has also won several awards and competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain, and the International Piano Competition in Geneva, Switzerland. The two pianists first met in 2007 at a music festival in Spain and quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music. They decided to form a piano duo and began rehearsing together regularly. Their first performance as Transcontinental Piano Duo took place in 2008 at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, and they received rave reviews from the audience and critics alike.
