Howard Colf was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Colf showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Colf's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue music seriously. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires, at the age of six. Under her guidance, Colf developed a deep understanding and appreciation for classical music. At the age of 12, Colf made his debut performance at Carnegie Hall, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major. The performance was a huge success, and Colf received a standing ovation from the audience. This performance marked the beginning of Colf's career as a classical pianist. Over the years, Colf continued to hone his skills and develop his unique style of playing. He studied at the Juilliard School in New York City and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London. During this time, he also participated in several international piano competitions, winning numerous awards and accolades.
