She quickly excelled in her studies and won several awards in local competitions. Her talent was evident, and she was soon accepted into the prestigious Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Hiroko Nakamura. During her time at Toho Gakuen, Noriko honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. She was a dedicated student and spent countless hours practicing and perfecting her craft. Her hard work paid off when she won the top prize in the school's annual piano competition. After graduating from Toho Gakuen, Noriko continued her studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. Noriko's time at Juilliard was a transformative experience, and she credits Kaplinsky with helping her develop her unique style and approach to music. Noriko's talent and dedication to her craft soon caught the attention of the classical music world. She began performing in major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. In 2001, Noriko won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. Her performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 was hailed as a masterpiece, and she was awarded the top prize, which included a cash award and a recording contract with a major record label. Since winning the Van Cliburn competition, Noriko has continued to perform and record extensively. She has released several critically acclaimed albums, including her debut album, "Noriko Ishikawa Plays Chopin," and her most recent album, "Noriko Ishikawa Plays Beethoven."
