Darin Kelly was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Darin showed a natural talent for music, and he began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Darin was exposed to a wide variety of music, but he was particularly drawn to classical music. He spent countless hours listening to recordings of the great composers, and he began studying piano seriously at the age of eight. Darin's talent quickly became apparent, and he began performing in public at the age of ten. He won his first competition at the age of twelve, and he went on to win numerous other competitions throughout his teenage years. In 2003, Darin was accepted into the Juilliard School in New York City, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. During his time at Juilliard, Darin continued to win competitions and perform in public. He made his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2006, playing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The performance was a huge success, and it marked the beginning of Darin's career as a soloist. Over the next few years, Darin continued to perform with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He also began recording albums, and his recordings of the works of Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff received critical acclaim. In 2010, Darin was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious awards in classical music. The award recognized Darin's exceptional talent and his potential for a long and successful career. He also began to explore new avenues in music, collaborating with jazz musicians and composers to create new works that blended classical and jazz styles. In 2018, Darin was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center Honors, a prestigious event that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to American culture. Darin's performance was a highlight of the evening, and it was praised by critics and audiences alike. Today, Darin is considered one of the most talented and exciting pianists of his generation.
