Franziska Stanner was born on May 12, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. She was born into a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned pianist and her mother a violinist. From a young age, Stanner was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Stanner's talent was quickly recognized, and she began performing in public at the age of six. She won her first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards throughout her childhood and teenage years. In 2003, Stanner was accepted into the prestigious Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria, where she studied under the renowned pianist and pedagogue Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. During her time at the Mozarteum, Stanner won several competitions, including the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna in 2005. After graduating from the Mozarteum in 2007, Stanner continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, under the guidance of Gerhard Oppitz. Stanner's career as a concert pianist began to take off in the late 2000s, and she began performing regularly throughout Europe and Asia. In 2009, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of Daniel Barenboim. Over the years, Stanner has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors of our time, including Sir Simon Rattle, Riccardo Muti, and Zubin Mehta. Stanner's repertoire is vast and includes works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, and many others. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the works of Beethoven and Schubert, and has been praised for her ability to bring out the emotional depth and complexity of their music. In addition to her career as a concert pianist, Stanner is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught masterclasses at universities and conservatories around the world, and has served as a jury member for several international piano competitions. Stanner has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career.
