Anastasia Kobekina is a Russian cellist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born on May 10, 1994, in Moscow, Anastasia showed an early interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. She studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Natalia Shakhovskaya, one of the most renowned cello teachers in Russia, and later at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Jens Peter Maintz. Anastasia's talent was evident from a young age, and she quickly gained recognition in Russia and abroad. In 2006, she won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, and in 2010, she won the Grand Prix at the International Competition for Young Cellists in Liezen, Austria. These early successes paved the way for a promising career as a professional cellist. Anastasia's career took off in earnest in 2014, when she won first prize at the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich, one of the most important music competitions in the world. This victory brought her to the attention of the international music community and led to numerous invitations to perform with major orchestras and at major music festivals. Since then, Anastasia has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. She has also appeared at major music festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Rheingau Musik Festival. Anastasia's repertoire is wide-ranging and includes works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Dvořák, Haydn, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, and Tchaikovsky, among others. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the cello concertos of Shostakovich and Dvořák, which she has performed with great success around the world. In addition to her solo career, Anastasia is also an active chamber musician. She has collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians, including pianists Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim, violinist Gidon Kremer, and cellist Mischa Maisky. She is a member of the Trio Gaspard, which she founded with violinist Jonian-Ilias Kadesha and pianist Nicholas Rimmer in 2010. The trio has won numerous awards and has performed at major music festivals and concert halls around the world. Anastasia's talent and hard work have been recognized with many awards and honors. In addition to her victories at the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians and the ARD International Music Competition, she has won first prize at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria and the International Music Competition Harbin in China. She was also a finalist in the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2017. Anastasia is known not only for her exceptional talent as a cellist but also for her musicality and sensitivity. She has been praised for her ability to convey the emotional depth and complexity of the music she plays, as well as for her technical virtuosity. Her performances are characterized by a deep understanding of the music and a commitment to bringing it to life for her audiences.
