Martin Finke was born on May 12, 1985, in Berlin, Germany. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Martin showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Martin's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly progressed, winning his first competition at the age of six. Martin continued to excel in music throughout his childhood and teenage years, performing in numerous concerts and competitions. In 2003, Martin was accepted into the prestigious Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and professor Klaus Hellwig. After graduating from the Hanns Eisler School of Music in 2007, Martin began his professional career as a concert pianist. One of Martin's most notable performances was at the 2010 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where he was awarded the second prize. His performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 was praised by the judges and the audience alike, cementing his reputation as one of the world's most talented young pianists. In addition to his successful concert career, Martin has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas. His recordings have received widespread praise from critics and audiences alike, with many citing his technical skill and emotional depth as defining features of his playing. Throughout his career, Martin has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to classical music. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious German Music Prize, and in 2015 he was named a Steinway Artist, joining the ranks of some of the world's most renowned pianists.
