From a young age, Boyce showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He was a prodigious talent and quickly progressed to more advanced pieces. Boyce's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking lessons with some of the best piano teachers in London and soon started performing in public. At the age of ten, he won his first competition, the London Young Pianist of the Year, and this marked the beginning of his career as a professional musician. Boyce continued to win competitions and awards throughout his teenage years, and he was soon recognized as one of the most promising young pianists in the country. In 2003, Boyce was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
