David Blunden was born on May 12, 1950, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional pianist and his mother a violinist. Blunden started playing the piano at the age of four and showed exceptional talent from an early age. Blunden's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He attended the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under renowned pianist and teacher Maria João Pires. Blunden's talent and dedication to his craft quickly became apparent, and he graduated with honors in 1972. After completing his studies, Blunden began performing professionally, both as a soloist and as part of various ensembles.
