The Thelema Trio is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015. The trio consists of three members: violinist Rachel Shapiro, cellist James Wilson, and pianist Wei-Han Wu. Wei-Han Wu, the pianist, is a graduate of the Yale School of Music and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. The Thelema Trio was founded with the goal of exploring the rich and diverse repertoire of classical music, from the Baroque era to the present day. The ensemble's name is derived from the Greek word "thelema," which means "will" or "desire." This reflects the trio's passion for music and their commitment to creating innovative and engaging performances. Since their founding, the Thelema Trio has performed at numerous venues throughout the United States, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. They have also performed internationally, with concerts in Europe and Asia.
