Thomas Wicky was born on May 15, 1985, in Zurich, Switzerland. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Wicky showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Wicky's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Zurich Conservatory of Music at the age of six. He studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires, who recognized his exceptional talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. At the age of 12, Wicky won his first major competition, the Swiss Youth Music Competition, which propelled him onto the international stage. He went on to win numerous other competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Geneva and the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. Wicky's talent and dedication to his craft led him to study at some of the world's most prestigious music schools, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He also studied under the guidance of renowned pianists such as Murray Perahia and Martha Argerich. Throughout his career, Wicky has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Wicky's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. He is known for his ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music he plays, and for his ability to connect with audiences on a deep and emotional level.
