From a young age, Sekler showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Sekler began his musical training at the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of some of the most renowned music teachers in the country. He showed exceptional talent and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of the most promising young musicians of his generation. In 1972, Sekler made his debut performance at the Moscow Conservatory, where he played the piano concerto by Tchaikovsky. The performance was a resounding success, and it marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career for the young musician. Over the years, Sekler went on to perform at some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He was known for his virtuosity and his ability to bring out the nuances of the music he played. One of the highlights of Sekler's career was his performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra in 1985.
