Network for New Music is a contemporary classical music ensemble based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1984 by composer and pianist Linda Reichert, the group has become a leading force in the performance and promotion of new music in the United States. Reichert, a graduate of the Juilliard School and the University of Pennsylvania, was inspired to create Network for New Music after attending a concert of contemporary music in New York City. She saw a need for a similar organization in Philadelphia, where new music was not being given the attention it deserved. With the help of a group of like-minded musicians, Reichert founded Network for New Music with the goal of bringing new and innovative music to audiences in Philadelphia and beyond.
