Born on January 1, 1985, in Kabul, Afghanistan, Siar Hashimi was raised in a family that valued music and the arts. His father was a musician, and his mother was a poet, which helped to foster his love for music and the arts from a young age. Growing up, Siar Hashimi was exposed to a wide range of musical genres, including classical, traditional Afghan music, and Western pop music. He began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. His parents recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. At the age of 12, Siar Hashimi began studying music formally at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM). The institute was founded in 2010 by Dr. Ahmad Sarmast, who aimed to provide music education to children who had been affected by war and conflict in Afghanistan. Siar Hashimi was one of the first students to enroll in the institute, and he quickly became one of its most talented students. During his time at ANIM, Siar Hashimi studied under some of the most renowned music teachers in Afghanistan. He also had the opportunity to perform in front of international audiences, which helped to hone his skills as a performer. In 2004, he was selected to perform at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he played a piece by Bach on the piano. After completing his studies at ANIM, Siar Hashimi went on to study music at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2010 and then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the same institution. During his time at the Royal Academy of Music, Siar Hashimi had the opportunity to study under some of the most renowned music teachers in the world, including Joanna MacGregor and Christopher Elton. Siar Hashimi's talent as a pianist quickly became recognized on the international stage. In 2008, he won the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome, Italy. This was a significant achievement for Siar Hashimi, as it helped to establish him as one of the most talented young pianists in the world. Over the years, Siar Hashimi has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also performed with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to his performances as a solo pianist, Siar Hashimi has also collaborated with other musicians and artists. In 2012, he collaborated with the Afghan National Institute of Music to create a new piece of music that combined traditional Afghan music with Western classical music. The piece was performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London and was well-received by audiences and critics alike.
