Solistas Instrumentales de la Habana is a classical music ensemble that was founded in Havana, Cuba in 1990. The group is made up of some of the most talented musicians in Cuba, who have come together to create a unique sound that blends traditional Cuban music with classical music. The ensemble was founded by flutist Niurka González and pianist Ulises Hernández, who were both graduates of the National School of Art in Havana. They were joined by cellist Jorge Hernández and violinist Luis Alberto Mariño, and together they began to explore the possibilities of combining Cuban music with classical music.
