The United States Air Force Band of the Rockies Ceremonial Brass is a classical music ensemble that has been entertaining audiences for over 60 years. The ensemble was founded in 1954 as part of the United States Air Force Academy Band, which was established to provide musical support for the Air Force Academy and the surrounding community. The Ceremonial Brass is made up of 12 members, all of whom are active-duty members of the United States Air Force. The ensemble is led by a conductor, who is also a member of the Air Force. The members of the Ceremonial Brass are highly trained musicians who have studied at some of the most prestigious music schools in the country. The Ceremonial Brass has performed at many high-profile events over the years, including presidential inaugurations, state funerals, and military ceremonies. One of the ensemble's most notable performances was at the inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2009. The Ceremonial Brass was also featured in the 2017 Presidential Inaugural Parade. In addition to its performances at high-profile events, the Ceremonial Brass also performs at concerts and other community events throughout the year. The ensemble's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, as well as patriotic and popular music. Over the years, the Ceremonial Brass has received many awards and honors for its outstanding performances. In 2015, the ensemble was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for its contributions to the Air Force mission.
