Zéphyros Winds is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1997. The group is made up of five members, all of whom are accomplished musicians in their own right. The members of the ensemble are Tara Helen O'Connor (flute), David Shifrin (clarinet), Charles Neidich (clarinet), Peter Kolkay (bassoon), and William Purvis (horn). The ensemble was founded with the goal of exploring the rich and diverse repertoire of wind chamber music. The members of the group were all drawn to the unique sound and expressive possibilities of wind instruments, and they wanted to share their passion for this music with audiences around the world. Since its founding, Zéphyros Winds has become one of the most respected and acclaimed wind ensembles in the world. The group has performed at major concert halls and festivals throughout the United States and Europe, and has collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians and composers of our time. One of the highlights of Zéphyros Winds' career was their performance at the 2003 Lincoln Center Festival in New York City.
