Raisa Kagramanova was born on May 15, 1985, in Moscow, Russia. She was born into a family of musicians, and her parents were both professional classical musicians. Her father was a violinist, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Raisa was exposed to classical music and began to show an interest in playing the piano. At the age of five, Raisa began taking piano lessons with her mother. She quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument and began to excel in her studies. By the age of ten, Raisa had already won several local piano competitions and had begun to perform in public. In 1996, Raisa was accepted into the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Vladimir Tropp. During her time at the conservatory, Raisa continued to excel in her studies and was awarded several scholarships and awards for her outstanding performances. In 2005, Raisa graduated from the Moscow Conservatory with honors and was awarded the Gold Medal for Excellence in Piano Performance. In 2008, Raisa was invited to perform at the prestigious Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow. The competition is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world, and Raisa's performance was met with critical acclaim. She was awarded the Silver Medal, cementing her reputation as one of the most talented pianists of her generation. Following her success at the Tchaikovsky Competition, Raisa began to receive invitations to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. She also began to record extensively, releasing several critically acclaimed albums of classical piano music. In 2012, Raisa was awarded the prestigious Order of Merit for Services to the Arts by the Russian government.
