Rosemary Furness was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Furness showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Furness received her formal music education at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires. During her time at the academy, Furness won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Club Prize. After completing her studies, Furness began performing professionally, quickly gaining a reputation as a talented and dynamic pianist. She made her debut at the Wigmore Hall in London in 2008, performing a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Schumann.
