Choeur de Dames de Lausanne is a renowned classical music artist that has been captivating audiences with their beautiful harmonies and exceptional performances for over 30 years. The choir was founded in 1989 by Michel Corpataux, a Swiss conductor and composer, who had a vision of creating an all-female choir that would showcase the talents of women in the world of classical music. The choir started with just 12 members, but quickly grew in popularity and size. Today, Choeur de Dames de Lausanne is made up of over 50 talented singers, all of whom are women. The choir has become known for their exceptional performances of classical music, with a particular focus on works by composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Brahms. Over the years, Choeur de Dames de Lausanne has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House, and Carnegie Hall in New York. They have also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. One of the highlights of Choeur de Dames de Lausanne's career was their performance at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The choir was invited to perform at the opening ceremony, where they sang a beautiful rendition of the Chinese national anthem, "March of the Volunteers." The performance was watched by millions of people around the world and was widely praised for its beauty and elegance. In addition to their many performances, Choeur de Dames de Lausanne has also received numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 1995, they were awarded the Grand Prix du Disque for their recording of Brahms' "Ein Deutsches Requiem." They have also been awarded the Prix de la Fondation Vaudoise pour la Culture, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the arts in the Swiss canton of Vaud.
