Her father, Franklin Cohen, was the principal clarinetist of the Cleveland Orchestra, and her mother, Lynne Ramsey, was a pianist and music teacher. Diana's parents recognized her musical talent at an early age and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Diana began playing the violin at the age of three and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She received her early training from her mother and later studied with renowned violinists such as Dorothy DeLay and Itzhak Perlman. Diana attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in 2001. After completing her studies, Diana joined the Cleveland Orchestra as a member of the first violin section. She quickly rose through the ranks and was appointed assistant concertmaster in 2005. Diana's talent and dedication to her craft were evident in her performances with the orchestra, and she soon became a sought-after soloist and chamber musician. Diana has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Franz Welser-Möst, Christoph von Dohnányi, and Sir Simon Rattle. One of Diana's most memorable performances was her solo debut with the Cleveland Orchestra in 2007. She performed Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, K. 219, to critical acclaim. The Cleveland Plain Dealer praised her "warm, singing tone" and "impeccable technique," while the Cleveland Classical Review called her performance "a revelation." In addition to her work as a soloist, Diana is also an accomplished chamber musician. She is a founding member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's resident ensemble, the Chamber Music Society Two.
