His father recognized his son's musical talent at an early age and provided him with the best music education available. Bernard de Bury began his musical studies with the organist of the local church, and later studied with the famous harpsichordist Jean-Philippe Rameau in Paris. He quickly became one of Rameau's most talented students and was soon appointed as the harpsichordist for the Royal Academy of Music in Paris. In 1745, Bernard de Bury was appointed as the harpsichordist for the Royal Chapel, a position he held until his death. He was also a member of the prestigious Académie Royale de Musique, where he composed several operas and ballets. Bernard de Bury's music was heavily influenced by the French Baroque style, which was characterized by its ornate melodies and complex harmonies. His compositions were known for their elegance and sophistication, and he was considered one of the most talented composers of his time. One of Bernard de Bury's most famous works is his harpsichord suite in G major, which was published in 1749. Bernard de Bury also composed several ballets, including "Les Caractères de la Danse," which was first performed in 1745.
