Lindsey Horner is a renowned double bassist, composer, and producer in the world of classical music. Born on August 22, 1959, in New York City, Horner grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist. Horner started playing the piano at the age of five, but he soon switched to the double bass, which became his primary instrument. Horner attended the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with legendary bassist Homer Mensch. After graduating, he started his career as a freelance musician, playing with various jazz and classical ensembles in New York City. In 1985, he joined the jazz group The Lounge Lizards, with whom he recorded several albums and toured extensively. In the late 1980s, Horner started to focus more on classical music. He became a member of the New York City Opera Orchestra and the American Composers Orchestra.
