Artist Info
Anna Scheps is a German classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born in 1990 in Berlin, Scheps began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She received her first piano lessons from her mother, who is also a pianist, and later studied with renowned teachers such as Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Lars Vogt. Scheps made her debut as a soloist at the age of 12, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. This early success set the stage for a career that would see her perform with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. One of Scheps' most notable performances came in 2007, when she won first prize at the International Beethoven Competition in Vienna. Her interpretation of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111, was praised for its technical precision and emotional depth. This victory helped to establish Scheps as a rising star in the classical music world. Since then, Scheps has gone on to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and Carnegie Hall in New York. She has collaborated with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, and Zubin Mehta, and has been praised for her ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music she plays. In addition to her work as a soloist, Scheps is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has performed with ensembles such as the Artemis Quartet and the Hagen Quartet, and has recorded several albums of chamber music repertoire. One of Scheps' most recent projects is a recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations, which was released in 2020. This recording has been praised for its clarity and sensitivity, and has cemented Scheps' reputation as one of the leading interpreters of Bach's keyboard music. Throughout her career, Scheps has received numerous awards and accolades for her performances. In addition to her victory at the International Beethoven Competition, she has won prizes at the International Robert Schumann Competition and the International Piano Competition in San Marino. She has also been awarded the prestigious German Music Prize, the Echo Klassik, for her recordings. Despite her success, Scheps remains dedicated to her craft and continues to push herself to new heights as a musician. She is known for her tireless work ethic and her commitment to exploring the depths of the music she plays. As she continues to grow and evolve as an artist, it is clear that Anna Scheps is a force to be reckoned with in the world of classical music.More....
