Filippo Burchietti was born on May 12, 1985, in Florence, Italy. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a singer. From a young age, Burchietti showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of five. Burchietti's early musical education was focused on classical piano, and he quickly became a prodigious talent. He won his first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards and accolades throughout his teenage years. In 2003, he was accepted into the prestigious Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, where he studied under the renowned pianist and pedagogue, Andrea Lucchesini. During his time at the conservatory, Burchietti began to explore other areas of classical music, including chamber music and orchestral performance. He formed a piano trio with two fellow students, and the group quickly gained a reputation for their dynamic and expressive performances. In 2006, they won first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Trapani, Sicily. After graduating from the conservatory in 2007, Burchietti continued his studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where he studied under the pianist Benedetto Lupo. During this time, he also began to perform as a soloist, making his debut with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo in 2008. Burchietti's career as a soloist continued to flourish, and he began to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He also performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and Carnegie Hall in New York. In addition to his work as a soloist, Burchietti continued to perform as a chamber musician, collaborating with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Maxim Vengerov and cellist Gautier Capuçon. He also formed a piano duo with his wife, the pianist Mariangela Vacatello, and the two have performed together extensively throughout Europe and the United States. Burchietti's repertoire as a pianist is wide-ranging, encompassing works from the Baroque era to the present day. He has a particular affinity for the music of Beethoven, and has performed all of the composer's piano sonatas in a series of concerts in Italy and the United States. Throughout his career, Burchietti has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. In 2010, he was awarded the Premio Abbiati, one of the most prestigious awards in Italian classical music, for his performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He has also been awarded the Premio Galileo 2000, the Premio Città di Firenze, and the Premio Franco Abbiati. In addition to his performing career, Burchietti is also a dedicated teacher, and has taught at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. He is currently a professor of piano at the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. Despite his many accomplishments, Burchietti remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform and teach with passion and enthusiasm, and is widely regarded as one of the most talented and exciting pianists of his generation.More....
