Laura Brenes is a Costa Rican classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and passionate interpretations of classical repertoire. Born on May 12, 1985, in San Jose, Costa Rica, Brenes showed an early interest in music and began studying piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began performing in public at the age of eight. Brenes continued her musical studies at the National University of Costa Rica, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. She then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the University of Michigan, where she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Logan Skelton.
