Charlotte Quadt was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Quadt showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. As she grew older, Quadt became interested in other instruments and began studying the violin and cello as well. She attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied piano performance under the guidance of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax. Quadt's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became apparent, and she began to receive recognition for her performances. In 2005, she won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, which is held every four years in Fort Worth, Texas. This competition is widely regarded as one of the most important piano competitions in the world, and winning it is a significant achievement for any pianist. Following her victory at the Van Cliburn Competition, Quadt began to receive invitations to perform at major concert halls around the world.
