Jessica E. Guideri is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violinist. Born on August 22, 1979, in Los Angeles, California, Guideri grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a jazz pianist, and her mother was a classical pianist. From a young age, Guideri was exposed to music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Guideri's talent was evident from the start, and she quickly became a prodigy. She began performing in public at the age of six and won her first competition at the age of eight. Guideri continued to hone her skills and went on to study at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. In 1997, Guideri was accepted into the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where she studied under the tutelage of Jaime Laredo and Ida Kavafian. During her time at Curtis, Guideri won numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2003. After graduating from Curtis, Guideri went on to perform with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the San Francisco Symphony. Guideri has also made a name for herself as a chamber musician. She is a founding member of the Calder Quartet, which was formed in 1998 while she was still a student at Curtis. The quartet has since become one of the most sought-after chamber ensembles in the world, performing at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. In addition to her work with the Calder Quartet, Guideri has collaborated with many other musicians, including pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and violinist Joshua Bell.
