Nadar Ensemble is a contemporary classical music ensemble based in Belgium. The ensemble was founded in 2006 by a group of young musicians who shared a passion for contemporary music and a desire to explore new sounds and techniques. The founding members of Nadar Ensemble were Bertel Schollaert (clarinet), Yves Goemaere (violin), Dries Tack (cello), Katrien Gaelens (piano), and Daan Janssens (composer). The ensemble takes its name from the Belgian artist and photographer Nadar, who was known for his innovative and experimental approach to art. From the beginning, Nadar Ensemble has been committed to performing contemporary classical music that pushes the boundaries of traditional composition and performance. The ensemble has worked with a wide range of composers, from established figures like Pierre Boulez and György Ligeti to up-and-coming talents like Stefan Prins and Michael Beil.
