The Janoska brothers grew up in a musical family, and began playing together as children. They studied at the Vienna Conservatory, and went on to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras and ensembles, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Tonkünstler Orchestra. In 2013, the brothers decided to form their own ensemble, and the Janoska Ensemble was born. The group's name is a combination of their surname and the word "oska," which means "little" in Slovak. The group has also collaborated with a wide range of artists, from classical musicians like Anna Netrebko and Plácido Domingo, to jazz musicians like Bobby McFerrin and Chick Corea. One of the Janoska Ensemble's most notable performances was at the 2015 New Year's Concert in Vienna, which was broadcast to millions of viewers around the world. The group's performance of their own arrangement of Johann Strauss II's "Die Fledermaus" was a highlight of the concert, and showcased the ensemble's ability to blend classical and folk music in a fresh and exciting way. In addition to their live performances, the Janoska Ensemble has released several albums, including "Janoska Style" and "Revolution," which feature their own arrangements of classical and folk music.
